Kayla is a KC native and has been a part of the soccer community in the metro since she began playing youth soccer in 2001. Kayla quickly fell in love with the beautiful game of soccer and has since become passionate about giving back to the community that helped shape her into who she is today.
Kayla played collegiately for The University of Central Missouri where she was a 3 time All American, 3 time All MIAA conference team, MIAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, and National Champion in 2017. She played high school at Mill Valley High School (2010-2013) and played with various clubs throughout youth soccer before finishing her youth career with KC Fusion.
Kayla has been coaching with KC Fusion since she graduated from UCM in 2017 and is looking forward to continuing to share her passion for the game and having an impact on young athletes' lives.
When Kayla is not at the soccer field, she is working to finish up her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center and will be looking for a job as an OT upon graduation in May and teaching swim lessons to kiddos with Autism.
Kayla enjoys spending time outside, going for runs and bike rides, making tshirt blankets, and listening to good music. She is an avid sports fan for the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, and KC Woso. Kayla likes to challenge her players to spread sunshine every day. Tell her how you spread sunshine to others!
